2)根据语言实际选择词义 …for dirt will weaken the weld，其中weaken为减弱，如果直译，不好理解，可以译为减弱…的强度”易于理解。

例如:

1)词的增补

a. 增补冠词

汉语中没有冠词，而英语中的冠词使用广泛，因此汉译英时应注意冠词的使用。

原子是元素的最小粒子。

An atom is thesmallest particle of an element.

b. 增补代词

比如：如果知道频率，就可求出波长。

c. 增补连词

1)省略范畴词

汉语里的范畴词像工作、现象、作用、方法、技术、过程、效应、变化、方法、设备等，译成英语时通常可以省略。

工作条件working传递方式transmission

2)省略动词

有些运动看起来很简单，有些运动看起来很复杂。
